MLS Columbus Crew Schedule: Regular Season, Playoffs, and Beyond
Regular Season
The Columbus Crew will kick off their 2023 MLS regular season on February 25th at home against FC Cincinnati. The Crew will play 34 games in the regular season, with 17 home games and 17 away games. The Crew will face each of the other 29 MLS teams at least once during the regular season. The Crew will also play two additional games against FC Cincinnati as part of the "Hell is Real" rivalry series.
The Crew will look to improve on their 2022 season, in which they finished 10th in the Eastern Conference and missed the playoffs. The Crew have made several key additions to their roster this offseason, including midfielder Aidan Morris and forward Cucho Hernandez. The Crew will also be hoping for a healthy season from midfielder Lucas Zelarayan, who missed most of the 2022 season with an injury.
Playoffs
The top seven teams in each conference will qualify for the MLS playoffs. The playoffs will begin on October 18th and will conclude with the MLS Cup on November 5th. The Crew have not won the MLS Cup since 2008.
Beyond the Regular Season
In addition to the regular season and playoffs, the Crew will also participate in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The U.S. Open Cup is a single-elimination tournament open to all professional and amateur soccer teams in the United States. The Crew have won the U.S. Open Cup four times, most recently in 2020.
The Crew will also participate in the Campeones Cup. The Campeones Cup is a match between the winners of the MLS Cup and the Liga MX championship. The Crew have never won the Campeones Cup.
