How to Delete an Instagram Account

Temporarily Deactivate Your Account

If you're unsure whether you want to permanently delete your Instagram account, you can temporarily deactivate it instead. This will hide your profile, posts, and followers from other users, but you can reactivate your account at any time. To deactivate your account:

1. Log in to Instagram on a computer.
2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.
3. Select "Edit Profile."
4. Scroll down and click on "Temporarily disable my account."
5. Enter your password and click on "Temporarily Disable Account."

Your account will be deactivated immediately. To reactivate it, simply log in to Instagram again.

Permanently Delete Your Account

If you're sure you want to permanently delete your Instagram account, you can do so from the Instagram website. Keep in mind that this action is irreversible, and you will lose all of your photos, videos, and followers.

To delete your account:

1. Log in to Instagram on a computer.
2. Go to the "Delete Your Account" page.
3. Enter your password and click on "Delete My Account."

Your account will be deleted immediately. You will not be able to recover your account or any of its data once it has been deleted.
